Sathi Sulochana, the first Kannada talkie, was released on March 3, 1934, at Paramount theatre in KR Market. Today the theatre doesn't exist but memories do. On this occasion Suchitra celebrates this month seminar on the Past and Future of Kannada cinema
To mark the occasion, Suchitra in collaboration with Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and the Information deprtment will organise a two-day exhibition of rare stills from Kannada movies and stamps on Indian Cinema. More than 150 stills from 140 movies as well as 5,000 postal stamps will be on display. Not onlly will the seminar will peek into the memory lanes of yester years of Kannada Cinema, but will also concentrate on the challenges and questions of today’s filmmaking. With the support of Karnataka Film Chamber, the seminar will be attended by prominent figures of Kannada industry also experts from Mumbai and Chennai.
Shri Nagabharana – Prominent Filmmaker and Ex Chairman of KCA will be the Artisitc Director of the whole event. The event is open for all.
